Management and Leadership are positions of authority that require conflict resolution, critiquing, conferencing and other communication. Cameras are now as small as a cell phone. Company surveillance is a part of the security systems that secure expensive equipment, as well as monitor employee behavior.

Washington Monthly’s November 2009 issue has an article about how London has about a million surveillance cameras.

‘Two years ago I warned that we were in danger of sleepwalking into a surveillance society,’ said the British information commissioner. ‘Today I fear that we are in fact waking up to a surveillance society that is already all around us’ (Malanowski, 2009).

And employees in large and small companies are waking up to surveillance employment that is already all around us. Data bases that check the computer systems we use, some employment is terminated as a result of improper computer use.

Movies have been made that reflect the use of surveillance equipment to monitor crime, many years ago it did not seem as possible as it is. The police are not the only thing clocking your driving speed, so is a camera on the traffic light. Malls have cameras systems, some security TVs the customers can see. This new use of technology and advances in technology make the profession of surveillance available to individuals, an example is home security systems. Some homes have outside cameras that monitor the door and garage areas.

Other countries are more honest about the use of surveillance equipment. As Managers and Leaders we must stay up-to-date on surveillance abilities and protect individual’s rights. Management and Leadership also requires in some cases, becoming an advocate. Some surveillance use may be questionable.

The Great Lakes include the United States of America and Canada. According to the Union of Concerned Scientists, the five Great Lakes are:

Great Lakes Regional Assessment (GLRA) discusses how the ecosystem and natural resources could change. This includes:

If the Great Lake water levels lower, it would impact shipping and recreational boating. Global warming lessens the snow fall and could also lower water levels. The changes in the lakes temperatures alter the food we make-up of lake algae, which is a major source of food for fish

No, and one reason the Taliban is winning in the public’s eye is because no one wants to tell what it really means to have a “Civilian Shield”. I am a missionary and understand that these groups are very specific in using religion as a part of their name. The Holy Bible tells about concepts that apply to modern day situations:

The word Taliban is a loan word from Arabic and is Pashtu meaning “students”. The Taliban or Taleban is a predominately Pashtun, fundamentalist, religious, pro-Wahhaabi, Sunni, Islamist, political movement, that governed Afghanistan from 1996-2001. The Taliban is fighting a guerrilla war against the Afghanistan government, Pakistan, allied NATO (Operation Enduring Freedom), and NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF). Afghanistan and Pakistan are bordering countries and the Taliban operate out of both.

Human Rights Watch’s (2008) report on “Troops in Contact” Airstrikes and civilian death in Afghanistan, section VII Recommendations: To Taliban, Al-Qaeda, and other opposition armed groups are:

1. Cease using civilians as shields
2. Take all feasible precautions to protect civilians from the effects of attack…

National Geographic has a book, Book of Peoples of the World A Guide to Cultures Edited by Wade Davis and D. David Harrison with Catherine Herbert Howell, it looks at the anthropology of the world. It has 18 pages of listings of the “Ethnic Groups of the World”.

A crisis, according to the American Heritage Dictionary is a crucial or decisive point or situation, a turning point, an ustable condition, as in political, social, or economic affairs, involving and impending abrupt or decisive change. An emergency is a serious situation or occurrence that happens unexpectedly and demands immediate action, this implies that some crisis are forseen.

As an American, many freedoms are taken for granted. Living in a democracy is very different from socialist, communist, and dictators. In a democracy, individual citizens input, hold rallies, protest, and cause social action.

Individual citizens vote on who will represent them and America has the least amount of intra-country terrorism. Terrorism is violence and intimidation for political gain.

Many other countries terrorize for political gain. The topics of crisis reporting are not or under reported situations, issues, and incidents that occur throughout the world.

Crisis reporting is a part of the independent and free press. Most crisis reporters are freelance, individual or corporate philanthropist that become knowledgeable about international issues and report as accurately as possible about the situations occurring.

The United States of America passed laws for freedom of speech and freedom of the press, most of the other countries do not have these freedoms. There are also many international organizations that monitor, provide assistance, and report as accurately as possible international issues.

If you are designing a customer-driven marketing strategy “marketing management” is important. “Marketing Management” is:

• “The art and science of choosing target markets and building profitable relationships with them” (Armstrong & Kotler, 2009).

Remember the potential profitability of a product and its production and the projected  loyalty.

When reading about and researching India, the traffic, language, social, and economic problems sound like Mexico. The U.S. Department of  State on Travel to India’s report says travel by road in India is dangerous, rast reckless driving without consideration for the rules of the road. Like Mexico, because of tribes and rural living there are huge varations in language, social and enconomic conditions, as noted by the International Herald Tribune about India.

When I worked with “at risk” youth, another employee was from India, he told me that in India he was a Medical Doctor and his education did not have resoprosity with U.S. Medical School, Boards, or Licensure. Mr. Thomas also informed me that in order to obtain higher education in India you had to be able to speak English. India’s National literacy average is 65 percent.

The greatest points of conflict in India are political, military, and terrorist. This version on the topic looks at Religious and Cultural Terrorism. The U.S. Department of State on Travel specifically includes violence against Christians, called Anti-Christian violence, that occurs in Orissa, Gujarat, Kerala, and Karnataka, India, against Indian and American Missionaries and Social Workers. Conversion of Hindus is illegal in some states due to the violent clashes it caused. Fourteen terror attacks have occured in major cities that have killed over 600 people between Oct. 2005 and Nov. 2008.
